What’s in a blog name anyway?

That is the question I have asked myself over the past few months! I associate with giving a baby it’s name, going through many different ones to find the right one, you just want to get it perfect. The great thing about baby names, is you don’t have to worry about who owns that name in the first place. I am pretty sure that there are very few (if any) copyrighted or registered baby names that you can’t use and certainly there are hundreds of names that you don’t want to use, right?

Coming up with a blog name is very similar, yet different in many ways. You do have to worry about who might be using the name, as you could/will be requested to not use it if you have chosen wrong. I certainly can’t call my blog the “Pepsi”® blog just because I like the name (I don’t), unlike choosing a babies name where no one is likely to say you can’t call your baby “Fred” if they have already used that name. Not to many people worry about their babies not looking like a “Fred” or “Sally” as the name tends to mold itself into the person or vice-a-versa (I think) as they grow up.

Thus leading to my blog name dilemma and solutions.

Why did I pick this blog name?

Two stories actually …

First is the “Why did I start the blog” and the second is “Why did I pick this blog name”. You can read about the first story in the “About” section of this blog (Hopefully it is finished by the time you read this). The second has, of course, to do with the first story – of course!

It is a personal rant of mine!

Seriously, who the hell is anyone to tell me I am too old to do anything! I can go out with a bang any damn way I wish!

OK, rant over …

Now for the confession – that is exactly what I wasn’t hearing from my parents when I asked them why they don’t spend their golden years traveling. They were to old they said and of course in my ultimate wisdom, I decided that would never, ever, happen to me!

And …

So …

You get to read all about my travels and such here on “Never Too Old To Travel” or is it “Never To Old To Travel” or Never 2 Old 2 Travel” or … ?

By now you should be starting to understanding my naming the blog dilemma! Certainly it will be called “Never Too Old To Travel”, or something close to it because I will be Never Too Old To Travel!

I originally choose “Never to Old To Travel” as the name I wanted to use, and I bought the domain name, started the graphic/video order, received the video, posted the video on Facebook, then someone noticed what I had not noticed. Grrr, the first “to” should be spelled “too” and so I started again, domain name, graphic/video, etc. OK, everything looks good until I stared the Twitter account and the domain name didn’t fit! You only get so many characters to use on Twitter and I exceeded that by about three letters. Then came the brilliant idea of calling the blog “Never 2 Old 2 Travel”. So once again I was off to buy “Never 2 Old 2 Travel” as a domain name and hit the domain name brick wall, it was owned already!

Grrr … (I just love those dots)

What a mess!

But unlike all things shiny that attract my attention, I wasn’t letting this one go. So, “Never 2 Old 2 Travel” will be available someday or never at all and that’s OK with me.

What is the name of all my adventures to be called?

Good question, Gary!

For now and forever it will be called “Never 2 Old 2 Travel”, Never Too Old To Travel”, and “Never To Old To Travel”.

Whew … (more dots)

I hope that clears up any confusion you my have.

Still Confused?

Well then, more specifically, to find my blog you type in your browser “nevertooldtotravel.com”, you will end up here and if you type in “nevertoooldtotravel.com” you will also end up here. Sadly if you type in “never2old2travel.com” you won’t end up here and I can’t do a damn thing about it right now or perhaps ever (depends on my mood).

Formal printing of everything will be: “Never Too Old To Travel”

I did choose to use “Never 2 Old 2 Travel” name on Facebook and Twitter because it is the shortest form of the blog name I could come up with and it was available.

Happy to have been able to clear all of that up!

Where can I follow your adventures, tips, trips and shiny stuff?

Glad you asked!

Website: https://www.nevertooldtotravel.com

Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nevertooldtotravel/

Twitter: https://twitter.com/Nvr2Old2Travel

And to be grammatically correct, I will try to use “Never Too Old To Travel” wherever it is appropriate, though I extend no promises.

Of course more way to find me are coming, for now I just wanted to confuse myself even more and clear up any and all confusion you may have had.
